Australian prosecutor rolls out first criminal antitrust case

Japanese shipping company Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha pleaded guilty on 18 July to a criminal cartel charge in Australia’s Federal Court – the first time the country’s prosecutor has ever brought criminal charges for anticompetitive behaviour, but unlikely to be the last.
