In 2009, Eli Lilly agreed to pay a US$515 million criminal fine, a US$100 million forfeiture and a civil settlement of up to US$800 million after pleading guilty to marketing antipsychotic drug Zyprexa for uses which were not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
