Ben Johnson is a director in the London office and leads AlixPartners’ corporate investigations practice in EMEA. Ben has more than 15 years’ experience in the field of forensic accounting. He has deep expertise in corporate and regulatory investigations and a wide range of experience across all aspects of forensic accounting work, including fraud and financial investigations; professional negligence investigations; bribery and corruption; asset tracing; and commercial litigation and arbitration. Ben has also acted as an appointed expert in litigation and arbitration.
Ben has led many investigations and reviews into suspected accounting irregularities, bribery and corruption issues and misconduct on behalf of regulators and private clients. In particular, Ben has led more than eight investigations on behalf of accountancy regulators in several jurisdictions in relation to accounting issues in recent accounting scandals.
Ben is currently leading a team assisting the Attorney General of Cyprus in a wide-ranging investigation into potential criminal offences in the Cypriot banking sector in the years leading up to the ‘bail-in’ of 2013.
Ben is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Treasurer and member of the Council of the Academy of Experts, and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Ben holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.
