Philipp von Holst is an international counsel in the Frankfurt office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. He advises companies on compliance, internal investigations and corporate defense matters, as well as on mergers & acquisitions, financings and capital markets transactions.
Mr. von Holst is named as a “Rising Star” in IFLR1000 (2015 and 2016). He has authored numerous articles, and he is a frequent speaker at business seminars and a lecturer at The Institute for Law and Finance at Frankfurt University.
Mr. von Holst was admitted to the Frankfurt bar in 1992 and to the New York bar in 1996. He is a member of the German American Lawyers Association (DAJV). Mr. von Holst is also a co-founder and board member of Pro Bono Deutschland e.V., an association for the promotion of pro bono legal advice for non-profit and non-governmental organizations and projects in Germany.
Mr. von Holst studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg, Freiburg and Munich, and graduated as Rechtsreferendar in 1989 from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and as an Assessor in 1992 from the Bavarian Ministry of Justice. He received an LL.M. from New York University School of Law in 1995.
